Africa - Infrared

April 13, 2007 | Filed Under Check it out, Personal  by michael |

Over the past year we’ve been experimenting with Infrared, and have come up with some pretty cool stuff, however we hadn’t really experienced it to it’s full potential until we went wild with it in Africa. We brought the IR everywhere we went, and I just shot everything I could with it. When we started processing these images I did some further tweaks to the finals, and I really started to like some of the stuff we were getting. I’ve been playing with the balance between a conversion that leans more towards a classic B&W and one that really pulls out the beauty that only IR can produce. Here are some of our favorites. Let me know what you think.

The first and the last ones are spectacular to me..I’m not an expert like you guys, so can’t really offer why the middle ones don’t do much for me..seems almost like it’s a really nice B/W. But with my naked, untrained eye, I can’t see the “wow” in the middle pictures, from the standpoint of infrared. For whatever that’s worth!!
