New York City – Kyle & Erica’s engagement
December 13, 2007 | Filed Under Engagement by michael |
WOW. This a marathon post, I just love so many of these images. This session is long over due, and I’ve been so excited about posting it now for what seems like ever. A little over a month ago when Emi & I were in New York we met up with Kyle & Erica and they showed us all over the city which made a great photo shoot for their engagement session. We arrived and the morning of the shoot, we woke up to the pouring rain, which actually made for some really fun photos, and it worked out because the sun came out on and off throughout the day. The crazy thing is these are only a few of the hundreds of photos we took, because we went EVERYWHERE. We used everything short of a moped to get around the city, and we had blast doing it. What a fun, energetic, and down-to-earth couple. We are so honored to have been their guests, and we so appreciated their kindness and hospitality. Thank you Kyle & Erica for showing us your beautiful city and for one of the most amazing dining experiences we’ve ever had! You truly made our time in NY exceptional.
For any of you food connoisseurs out there, if you’re ever in the Hudson Valley, you have to make it over to Blue Hill at Stone Barns. It was absolutely fantastic!
I will be posting our New England trip photos in the next few days so check back soon (oh and a few weddings and engagement sessions too!)
We’d love to hear your comments, so make sure to drop us a line using the comment link at the bottom of the post!!
Enjoy!

Heres a few shots that Emi took of my while we were working. I got busted for not shooting enough of her!
. . .

This is one of the shots that I posted above in B&W, but I wanted to play around with it a bit because I loved the shot so much. This is kind of of what NY felt like the day we were there, so I played with making it feel like a snow scene. I’d love to hear peoples thoughts on this style.

I wish you wuld have posted more, as I was obsessed with looking at those..oh my. Those were over the top..and her outfits and poses..man! The last one looked like it was snowing sort of and then the ground looked like water, so it was a little “cool” trick on the eye/mind. Makes me want to get skinny, get rich, get a ticket and move to NY so I can hire you and you can follow me around NY–probably my fav so far..altho I love all your work. Great job guys.
LOVED this post. i’ve been keeping up with your blog and these pics are among my favorites. the couple is BEAUTIFUL and you guys did an awesome job catpuring their spirit and the spirit of the city. the rain makes everything look so fresh – love the colors of the boots against the green and wet street. the wide angle shots are amazing. the last picture reminds me of “moulin rouge” the movie. awesome feel. i’m a big fan.
wow thanks for the tour of NY!
I think that last picture is very unique, and also different from what I’ve been seeing so that makes me like it!
Thank you for each of your comments! I’m always exploring new ways developing, and that last picture is really fun style that I think I’ll be doing a bit more of now. NY is such a great city, it’s hard not to take good pictures there! Lisa, let me know when you’ll be in NY and I’ll do a session with you & Allen!
