Bryan Clay - Olympic Gold Medalist - Decathlon
September 4, 2008 | Filed Under Check it out, Editorial, Portrait by michael |
I’ve been more than excited about this post for some time now, and I am so honored for the privilege to have worked with Bryan Clay just before he left for Beijing where he won the gold medal for Decathlon. We did a promotional piece for an editorial spread, and then Azusa Pacific University wanted to do a billboard for Bryan (Bryan is an ‘03 Alumnus). Then just after winning the gold they updated the billboard, and added a few more locations, so you can now see 3 of these billboards on the 210 East near Irwindale, the 605 North near the 10 connector, and the last one is at The Block at Orange. These are a few more of the other photos that we took for the editorial piece. Bryan is a phenomenal athlete, and it was quite amazing to photograph him in action. (He’s actually doing his training routine for these pics). You can see more of our photos in last weeks edition of USA TODAY. Congratulations Bryan! We’re proud of you. Sweet! I watched two days of the Decathlon and was cheering for Bryan all the way. He killed everyone! Rach saw one of the billboards last week, she was stoked for you!
Oh man..how fun for you. His muscles and veins don’t look real…looks like you just added that. And the coloring is so different..I love it.
Also, the one where he’s throwing the discus (sp?) and you rounded it out..that was so brilliant.
Excellent lighting and coloration! You should sell these to Nike
How cool to shoot the greatest athelete in the world!
You guys keep knockin’ ‘em outta the park! The lighting and the colors are spectacular! I love Jill Greenberg and this is very reminiscent of the silvery-blue shots she takes. You two are quite the strobists.
…you guys teaching classes anytime soon!
Thanks guys! I had a really good time on this shoot. We may start doing workshops next year! I’ll let you know.
Flawless work!
