Jamie & Scott

It’s the famous blog header couple! Jamie & Scott were married at Tierra Rejada Golf Course which we had never worked at before, so it was a nice change of scenery and we got some great stuff with them. They have so much fun with each other, and a flair for the dramatic when it comes to photos. They make an effortless transition from goofy fun to poetic elegance for the camera and we of course soaked it up! We started the day off at a park where they spent a lot of time over the past few years with each other, and with family, so it was really meaningful to have their first meeting of the day there. Michael and I absolutely fell in love with the trees as our backdrop and wanted to keep a natural, rustic feel to the day, so it was perfect when we got to the ceremony and got permission to drive around the golf course on the golf carts. We went off-roading and bounded up a hill that brought us to an awesome little spot with high weedy grasses. There were some pallets that had been dumped up there, creating a perfect prop for some sweet, dramatic images. We had fun incorporating those into the photos.
Congratulations Jamie & Scott!
Johnny & Andrea - engagement session

It’s starting to be a busy time for engagement sessions in preparation of all the summer weddings this year. Johnny & Andrea are actually getting married next month! so it’s coming right up. We headed to Crystal Cove for their session which is conveniently really close to where they live. Johnny brought his Vespa (so sweet!) so we grabbed some shots of them driving around before we headed down to the beach where we incorporated some of the dilapidated cabins to add to that old school vintage feel. Johnny was a bit nervous when we started and not too excited about the session, but he rocked it! You guys both did great and we can’t wait for the wedding!

I checked the mail yesterday and opened a wedding invite from our good friends (and clients) Kris & Cori, and I was super stoked on how they had turned out. It was especially interesting after hearing some of the details about what went into the their design & production. First let me say, that Kris is an amazing graphic designer, and so naturally all of his talents were poured into this little project with obvious vested interests, and much to his good fortune, he pulled off the design with flying colors (lots of greens). So I called him and asked if I could blog his creation which I’m sharing with you now. For those of you have the fortitude to attempt a do-it-yourself project like this, the rewards, and the experience, can be quite fulfilling, however there are plenty of very talented people that can guide you through the process, right up to the folded and pressed finish.
Kris & Cori happened to know a friend ( Kristen Johansen) that runs a Vandercook 4 press out of her home studio, and so they were invited to be a part of the printing process as well. Although I don’t know her personally, I’ve heard wonderful things about her. If you’re interested in her services you can email her at kia@bossanova dot com. (to prevent drowning her email with spam, I’ve intentionally spelled out the .com. Please correct it when sending her an email)
Not only are we really looking forward to partying with good friends, but Kris & Cori are getting married in Breckenridge Colorado so that will give us a little out of state time. For now, check out the masters handiwork.

Kris wanted to share some of the photos from their experience, so make sure to check out the links below.
