Daniel proposed to Shannon at Palisades Beach Club in Santa Monica, so we thought it would be a great place for their engagement photos. Daniel’s family have been members for generations, and I’m so glad they mentioned the club because I LOVED the shots we got! The beach house made for a really relaxed atmosphere with cute, simple decor and a great deck that I enjoyed using in several of my shots. The club is right on the beach, so we ran off the deck to grab some shots on the sand as well. It’s a perfect spot to take family, and evidently perfect for romance too! Shannon and Dan were great models, and so fun-loving with each other, really, my job was easy that day, amazing location, great couple, beautiful light.

This was such a special wedding to be a part of. Carolyn and Todd had an intimate gathering of close friends and family, and the love for the couple was truly evident throughout the days events. There was laughter and tears shared by all. We absolutely love the Estancia. There are endless photo opportunities on the beautifully manicured property. There are intimate outdoor gardens that offer a variety of ceremony sites, elegant indoor spaces, and it’s all set in a unique rancho style. Carolyn & Todd’s ceremony was on the Olive Lawn, and the reception was set in the courtyard lawn, in a casual style. There was a chef preparing gourmet quesadilla’s with all the fixings (which we had to partake of) and the chocolate fountain was a crowd pleaser as well.

I love so many of these images, they are so full of life, but I especially love the sequence of when Todd first saw Carolyn, they are such a precious couple. Congratulations Carolyn and Todd!

I’d never been to the Griffith Observatory before, so I got pretty excited when Jonathan and Angel liked my idea of shooting their engagement session there. They surprised me by bringing along their little doggy Pommie! She is just so cute! We had fun running around with her and tried to use her in the majority of the photos because she had serious separation anxiety when I held her leash to try and get some shots of just the two of them. The poor little girl was shaking! Jonathan and Angel love their photos with little Pommie, and she was quite the celebrity at the Observatory. Everyone stopped to ask what breed she was, what her name was, and wanted to pet her. I’ll be shooting there wedding next month (can’t believe it’s already July) at the Houdini House in Laurel Canyon so we’ll have some awesome shots from that too.
