Aviva & Adam – Atheneum, Pasadena
January 25, 2009 | Filed Under Wedding by michael | 2 Comments
The Atheneum is such a neat venue, very historic and grand, yet there is an intimacy to it that draws you in. Aviva and Adam’s ceremony capitalized on that intimacy by having all the guests seated around the raised hupa. I loved the idea of having their loved ones surround them as support, it was truly beautiful. The light during the ceremony was simply phenomenal, just at that golden hour creating beautiful images full of life and color. Aviva and Adam have a pretty unique story. They met in a bar in New Orleans, and just happened to both live back in CA! With that, their friendship started, which grew to love. A proposal at Pt. Vicente Lighthouse, and a few months later, their wedding, complete with Mardi Gras beads! They had a fantastic live band which made for a fun time of dancing the night away.

Aiko & Graham – Griffith Observatory

This session was shot on the most beautiful day right after we had rain, which gave us fresh clean air, and crisp blue skies that just added to the dramatic setting. We happened to go on a day with very few people visiting, which was nice. I Love shooting at the Griffith Observatory! Aiko & Graham are such a cute couple, so my job was easy. We booked Aiko and her sister Mariko together, and photographed Marikos’ wedding back in August. Aiko and Grahams’ wedding was in beautiful Monterey CA (pics to follow) and it was fun to reunite with a lot of friends and family from her sister’s wedding. Check back soon for their wedding pics!

Krista & Phil – Rancho Capistrano

Krista & Phil are such a sweet couple. You’ll remember them from their fabulous engagement session where they enjoyed the romantic charm of Old Towne Orange. Well it was no surprise that their wedding day was equally as romantic and joyful. Phil has devoted his life to serving as a pastor, and Krista supports with her warm heart and glowing smile, which is often sparked by some comedic exchange with Phil. We loved the bright colors they chose for the wedding which really fit their personalities. We’ve shot several weddings at Rancho Capistrano, and it’s always fun to see how each couple creates a unique atmosphere for their wedding. A big thanks to the lovely Courtney Toney from Joyful Weddings and Events, the day was flawless!
